KNB NONI - MORINDA CITRIFOLIA L. Noni is a fruit much like a pineapple in shape & the common name of botanical plant Morinda Citrifolia. It is also known as Indian Mulberry. In 1953, Dr. Ralph Heinicke started research on Noni and found the elements in Noni that helped the body by increasing the absorption of nutrients – He named that ingredient as Xeronine & Xeronine was 40 times more then that of Pineapple. Research showed that Xeronine may help to enlarge the pores in the walls of human cell & enable nutrients to enter the cells more easily. Researched by more than 30 researchers in over 6 countries and it will continue almost 50 years later. Noni has been used for more than 2000 years. Used in traditional Ayurveda for its healthful benefits. Has been known for centuries as “ACH”.

How does Noni Work in the body?
Noni’s most important ingredient, a large molecule called Proxeronine, combines with enzymes in the body to form an essential substance known as xeronine (zair o neen). Once xeronine is formed, it combines with many proteins in the body that need xeronine to function. There is a specific area on certain proteins that allows them to combine with xeronine. Many of these proteins would not be able to function without xeronine. Not all proteins need xeronine to function though. Many vital proteins acting as hormones, antibodies, and enzymes need xeronine to carry out their duties. Proteins give structure to hair, skin and bones. They allow chemicals and nutrients travel through the cell membrane. Proteins also act as hormones, leading all bodily processes at a molecular level. Proteins act as antibodies and incapacitate foreign invaders such as viruses. They also act as enzymes and oversee al chemical production in the body. Many of these proteins need xeronine to function. Proxeronine is naturally supplied to us by the food we eat, but in order to keep body healthy, one must increase their supply of proxeronine by regularly drinking Noni juice. Several factors will create an increased need for proxeronine in your diet. Both sickness and highly active lifestyle will place an increased demand on the proteins of your body. In order for the proteins to work harder to keep up with these demands they will need an increased supply of xeronine. To increase the supply of xeronine in the body, more proxeronine will need to be supplied through your diet. Also, in old age our bodies become less efficient and require more nutrients to sustain health. Among these nutrients is proxeronine.
Noni juice helps overcome low levels of xeronine in the body and restore healthy protein assimilation. When some one has a low level of xeronine in their system, they will feel the negative side effects of the proteins not functioning properly. When they increase the intake of proxeronine by drinking Noni juice and xeronine is restored in the body to a healthy level, they will overcome their ailment and have remarkable results. That is why many people claim that Noni is a miracle juice because it is supplying a vital nutrient, proxeronine, which is usually drastically missing in their diet. Noni juice is a good health product because supplies the body with the precursor to the active chemical, which allows the body to take control of itself instead of supplying the body with the active chemicals like so many drugs do. The body regulates the supply of proxeronine and uses what it needs to maintain a healthy level of xeronine. The unused portion is then discarded and that’s why is impossible to overdose on the proxeronine.
Our knowledge of xeronine’s role in the body will also lead us to many other applications. One of these applications for noni juice is its potential in cosmetic products. The liver is the main place of storage for proxeronine. The second major storage place for proxeronine is the skin. Proxeronine is converted to xeronine all over the body, and the skin is no exception. In order to keep your skin healthy and smooth, it will need to contain an ample amount of proxeronine. Lack of proxeronine in the skin may be responsible for unhealthy skin and many other skin conditions. Proxeronine is also needed to maintain healthy hair scalp. Addition of proxeronine to the scalp and hair will leave a marked improvement if those areas are lacking. Another exciting application for xeronine is as a pain reliever and an anesthetic. Currently the most powerful pain relieving drugs are foreign alkaloids like morphine and codeine. We learned earlier that foreign alkaloids are nothing but counterfeits of xeronine acts as the body’s supreme painkiller because it works with endorphins in the body to numb pain and produce feelings of euphoris. Endorphins are the hormones that are responsible producing good feelings in the body they bind to certain proteins just like the xeronine does. When xeronine and an endorphin are bound to a protein, the xeronine channels the energy from the water into the endorphin and the endorphin creates a good feeling within you. Science is still working on how the endorphin creates these good feelings, but we know that they are somehow responsible. However, without the xeronine, the endorphin is useless. As well as its pain relieving properties, xeronine also works to stimulate the body. Xeronine’s simulative activities are mirrored through the activity of its counterfeit foreign alkaloid cousin, caffeine. When you drink a cup of coffee in the morning, caffeine floods your body. These caffeine molecules add to the proteins in your body, taking the place of xeronine, and enable them to work. Because you are adding many caffeine molecules from one cup of coffee, your proteins are able to work much harder than usual. The effects you would feel from a significant quantity of pure xeronine introduced in to the body would be very similar to the effects your feel from caffeine. This simulative effect of xeronine could have amazing potential. It could significantly improve athletic performance as well as increasing your ability to concentrate and think clearly.
Why Noni works for so many conditions
The natural integrity of noni is only part of the reason for its effectiveness. There are two additional reasons contributing to noni’s effectiveness for a broad range of conditions. Unique combination of substances: for a fruit which is the most digestively efficient of all foods, noni has an impressive combination of ingredients. It has a rich complement of vitamins and minerals; including A, B vitamins (including the rare B12), C, E, iron, calcium, sodium, potassium, zinc and several trace minerals. It also has 17 of 20 amino acids. Terpenes, fungicides, adaptogens, glycosides, polysaccharides and other unique ingredients that even in small amounts can have significant physiological effects can be found in noni. Studies show that Noni simulates the immune system, regulates proper cell function, increases the ability of cells to absorb and utilize nutrients, inhibits tumor growth, and regenerates damaged cells. Probably the most unique ingredient is an alkaloid called xeronine. Xeronine has several important functions including regulating the many proteins in the body, activating inactive enzymes and improving cellular function. Noni also contains a substance called proxeronine, which can be stored in the liver according to Dr. Ralph Heinecke. Proxeronine, in turn, can be used to make xeronine as needed. Noni has very good serotonin binding ability. Serotonin is important for several functions, including sleep quality, hunger, sexual behavior, temperature regulations and several personality disorders including depression, anxiety, irritability and attention deficit conditions. Scopoletn, another important ingredient in noni, is known for its inflammatory, anti-histaminic, improved circulation, anti-asthmatic, anti-bacterial and several additional important effects./ it works like a food and acts like a medicine or herb without the side effects.
Synergy of its substances: the many known, and even some of the unknown substances, come together in a way that support needs of many of our internal systems, concurrently. As the work synergy implies, these substances work far better in combination than they do separately. Many of the ingredients in noni are found in varying amounts in other foods or herbs. There seems to be no known food or herb with either the rich list of substances or the high amounts of key substances all put together in one super food. Noni aids the body’s natural healing abilities.
The medicine with a brain
Noni is a classic example of an adaptogenic herb. The term adaptogen refers to any substance that increases the body’s resistance to stress or disease. Noni contains naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, trace elements and co-factors. Moreover, every portion of the noni plant contains a rich array of natural chemicals with desirable effects on the body. There is no pharmaceutical agent that can offer the same benefits. In addition, the beauty of botasnical medicines is that they are intuitive about what your body needs. In other workds they adapt to whatever your individual health needs are. Although noni is not the only plant with multiple uses, its potential health contributions are unique and valuable. Anyone interested in achieving long term health should consider supplementing with Noni.
The following text is written by Dr. Neil Solomon: “Before delving in to each of the specific health for which people use Noni, I want to quickly summarize how I believe noni is able to help so many different health problems. While the working theory I am about to present does not cover the only reason noni is such a n effective natural health supplement, I believe it does help explain why this ancient fruit is able to improve the symptoms of so many varied types of health problems.
One of these theories used to explain noni’s health effects revolves around one of it’s putative main components – proxeronine. It is believed that once in the body, proxeronine travels to specific parts of the cells, such as the mitochondria, microsomes, Golgi apparatus, reticuloendothelium, electron transport system, DNA, RNA, and etc. within the cell, these components communicate with each other (intracellular) and with other cells (intercellular). It is established by Dr. Anne Hirazumi that Noni augments the release of high amounts of nitric oxide from immune cells. I coupled her work with the work from the 1998 Nobel Prize winners in medicine who are Drs. Robert fuchgott, Feried Murad, and Louis Igano. These scientists demonstrated that nitric oxide in low concentrations allows cells to communicate with each other. Nitric oxide becomes one of their special languages. The 1999 Nobel Prize was awarded to Rockerfeller University Biologist Dr. Guenther Blobel who explained how problems proteins are shipped to cells using a “postal and zip code” sort of system. I believe when a person does not have optimal health, it is because some cells are sick.
Relying on search from other scientists, I have constructed my own theory about how the body is able to distribute the important biochemical compounds in noni. According to this theory, once in the body proxeronine travels to specific cells and settles in the cell’s Golgi apparatus and reticuloenothelium. Within these structures, proxeronine combines with other natural biochemicals and building blocks ( i.el hormones, proteins, enzymes, serotonin, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants) where it exerts its action. It is postulated the Golgi apparatus and the reticuloendothelium then assemble all the necessary compounds into a specific "package" and deliver the "package" to the parts of the cell which are sick, or they may carry the "package" via the blood stream to other sick cells in other parts of the body, similar to how letters are sent to a specific address based upon the specified postal code. This is called the Noni Phenomenon.
As the receiving cell opens the “package” sent by the Golgi apparatus and the reticuloendothelium, the packaged proxeronine combines with another cellular enzyme called proxeroninease. According to research by Dr. Ralph Heinicke, this combination converts in to xeronine. Others believe that xeronine aids the cell to repair and regenerate itself. This is one way I believe that Noni Juice helps the body heal itself.
A simple illustration of this would be to compare proxeronine to that of a conductor of a symphony orchestra. Just as a conductor skillfully conducts participants in an orchestra, proxeronine directs the various amounts of nutraceuticals, other natural biochemical’s and building blocks ( i.e. hormones, proteins, enzymes, serotonin, vitamins, antioxidants) to go to that part of the sick cell(s) to help in healthy regeneration. Once this happens, under the direction of its conductor the cells once again work in harmony and play beautiful, helpful music.
One might logically ask why use noni juice to replenish proxeronine? Why not obtain it from food? The answer is simple Noni is a food and is by far the riches source of proxeronine. It has more than forty times more proxeronine than its closest competitor, pineapple.”
Doctor Steven Hall’s thoughts on Noni: Noni is very rich source of the building blocks of a recently recognized nutritional requirement – xeronine. Many aspects of modern life diminish our own natural ability to make xeronine. Without adequate levels of xeronine, our bodies can’t preciously regulate their biochemical reactions or cellular communication. Because our cellular processes are so interdependent, an array of bodily process then break down. The benefits of noni go so deeply in to our body- improving the quality of the biochemical reactions and cellular functioning – that I would suggest if you have any health issue atall, give the Noni ninety days. Who knows? Even if your major problem is not directly due to a xeronine deficiency, and not every health problem is, perhaps supplementing xeronine can improve other functions, shoveling enough straw off your own innate healing abilities that your system will then be better able to deal with what is bothering you. *Adapted from the book ,”Noni through your body.”
Xeronine The most famous “other” component we derive from properly prepared noni juice is the substance called xeronine discovered by Dr. Ralph Heinicke. Xeronine is a small alkaloid that is required in picrogram ( trillionth of gram) amounts and is essential to the correct functioning of the body. Small amounts of xeronine are produced in the body but are rapidly depleted by it continuous use in regulating the structure and functions of proteins. As the body ages it appears that less and less xeronine is produced. Especially large amounts are used in times of physical or mental stress. Xeronine is produced in the body from the substance proxeronine (found in the noni fruit) combining with the enzyme proxeroninease in the small intestine. Proxeronine is a colloid of relatively large molecular weight and is different in structure from most colloids. Dr. Heinicke felt that because of this it was overlooked by most biochemists who were used to a different chemical composition. Colloids are mixtures in which very small particles are dispersed through a medium.
Who needs xeronine?
Dr. Heinicke states that all healthy cells in plants, animals and microorganisms require xeronine to function correctly. Which tissues within an individual’s body, if any, are low in xeronine will determine how and if the presence of this nutrient will affect a person’s state of well being.
Xeronine and Protein Dr. Heinicke’s research seems to indicate that xeronine is required to regulate the shape and rigidity of certain proteins. This process then ensures that the proteins function correctly. Considering the proportion of the human body that is composed of protein we can begin to appreciate why xeronine is such an important nutrient. The wide spread positive effect on the well being of so many individuals could then be attributed to the action of xeronine on the proteins of the body. It is not surprising then that Noni Juice, which is the riches t source of this nutrient, appears to improve the function and structure of hormones, antibodies, connective tissue, enzymesand neurotransmitters. Considering the broad range of conditions that arise from a malfunction of deficiency of any of these proteins, then the possibility for the action of xeronine within our tissues is enormous.
Conditions directly involved with proteins may include PMT: menopausal symptoms, acne, arthritis, lupus, sleeplessness, depression, digestive disorders, poor liver, metabolism as well as poor immune function.
